Weekend? I just heard something go WOOSH!

So, a long weekend is comming to an end. (I had some overtime hours to whittle away, so I took friday off)

Thursday I meet up with Anja in CpH after work and had delish burgers at Sporvejen and walked around the city chatting and goofing around. Been ages since I've seen her.

Friday, I sleept in late and then headed off to town to meet up with Siri, got the downlow on her trip to New York and we saw Thor (which was actually quite good, though the blatant disregard for norse mythology was itchy. I mean, what the hell happened to Sifs golden, litterally, golden hair and if Heimdal was called the White Ase, how come he was black. but still, a fair enough superhero flick ^^d)
Siri sucked me into buy a load of candy... well, technically she asked if I wanted some candy and I head myself say yes XD so felt very bloated after the movie, my stomach is no way near able to handle sugar and E-numbers like it use to.

Saturday, up bright and Early... well around 8 anyway =P
and off to Lyngby to buy new running shoes, as the old ones were starting to mess with my feet. some run tests and counsling and 20 minuts later I had new shoes and water belt and was 1600 lighter. EMPERORS PONGO STICK o_0 anyone who says running is an equipment cheap sport can kiss my ass.

anyways, here they are
Gonna take a run in'em as soon as I've digested my breakfast, I've eaten way to much unhealthy crap this weekend. >_< I feel seriously bloated.

Was gonna swing by Hanami, But since most of the people I know that'd show up was either at svs, in Holland or well, just not there. I jumped when Kenneth called and asked if I wanted to go shopping with him.
Which turned out to a trip to Fields, where I got a pile of socks and a small pile of cloth for kenneth.
Afterwards we went to a improvised foto safari.
I got a warhammer 40k projekt in the pipes, shopping in titans onto pictures with well known buildings to give a sense of scale. (this ofcause will require me to fix my computer and get PS. but one thing at a time)
So got some pictures of Herlev hospital, which I know is slightly taller than the largest of the titans in the line up, so perfect place to start =)
we knew a large hill about 10 km out side of Herlev, so we saddled up and headed out.

gives you a rather good idea of just how massive the emperator titan is, when the building pokes up like that =3

Picture of a very gratifying moment of relisation. Advedøreværket in the horison, that's almost exsactly 10 km away in a straight line from the top of the hill. I run that distance about every other.
Ego boost? oh yes sir.

on the way down the hill, I snapped a photo of kenneth, snapping a photo of me.
 It's a big freaking hill.
some sheep at the bottom. who where were suspecious of us =3

Also, kenneth bought the new Within Tempatation CD. good stuff. but particular Demon's fate caught me.
^^y

While talking about music, that's caught me. I've been very partial to Xanders: Det burde ikke være sådan her. Really like it ^^

and now for something far more silly. After Kenneth headed off to his parents, Eva swung by and we sat down to play the conan drinking game.
Which means you gotta take a sip everytime something particular happens.
Anyone says "crom"
Arnold flexes or swings around his sword for flash.
there's naked tits.
someone dies
when he says the "crush your enemies, see them driven before you yadda yadda yadda" it's bottoms up.

The someone dies rule nearly did me in, christ alot of people gets killed in that movie ^^;
But it was good fun =D

Winging it

So, after work I headed off to amager to visit Eri, Hiro and Emma. Along the way I made a quick stop over in a shop to pick up a stuffed animal for Emma.
As I walk in, I say hello to the woman behind the counter and start looking around the store. Out of the corner of my eye noting her staring at me. Not looking, staring.
I try and pay it no mind and find some more stuff for my self and pick a doll, but get's somewhat weirded out that she just keeps staring, wondering if they recently got robbed by someone looking like me.
So I come across a showerbrush or broom for brushing down a horse, and hold it up and ask if it's either.
she politely tells me to bring it over, so she can find out. I walk over and hand it to her and it's then and there the coin drops, as she stands holding it in her hands and explains it's a showerbrush, but still staring straight at me.
ladies blind, and still manages a store, neat =) had a talking registere and everything ^^ Managed to swallow my first inclination to observe stupidly "you're blind!" I'm pretty sure she was well aware herself and just go along as if I'd know from the getgo =3

Anyways. Got cute little bunny and even cuter octopus for Emma.
And Eri got some skin creme from Ole Henriksen in a belately birthday present ^^;

living the carnivor lifestyle

*noms carrot* phew, gotta add some fiber or my digestive system is gonna kill me.
Been barbequing the last two days. Had two solid chunks of beef yesterday and assorted meats tonight. I think I got my share of proteine for the next few days =P
But it was good food, enjoyed in even better company.

I've spent alot of time fiddling with my house design and got the floor plans more or less down, so I'll be able to throw up some schematics soon and a 3D model if I can find a decent achitect program and figure it out.
Saw a very interesting on grand designs about oak frames, so I've gone and redesigned the whole upper story or most of it any way.
It's a very enganging project =3

RUSH

wow. life's been hectic of late ^^; Been meaning to update, but just havn't gotten around to sitting down and get at the keyboard.

Anyways, here's some of the highlights.

Katzen jammer concert. Me and frost had a splendied guys night out prior to the concert, arriving early in the city and decided to have some thai food and get brought each other up on current events. Then walked around the area near Enghave station, killing time and exploring the area, appearently every other store sells old stuff ^^;
Anyways, Little Vega opened around 8 in the evening. (small oversigt on my part, when signing up for this concert, I'd neglected to note the start time) so while we waited for the warmup band, which turned out be a warm up solo artist, we had a few drinks and talked about games and girls (which tend to be about 60% of our conversation subjects)
The warmup was okay, more background music in a lounge than a real act you'd pay attention too, but she was excellent and the mood was good and positive with the crowd.
Then at 10, Katzenjammer went on and blew my socks off =D I'm not one for large crowds and big events, so the roughly 100 or so audience suited me fine and even with such a relatively small crowd, the girls pulled out the stops, had fun, threw jokes at each other and just put the pedal to the metal.
easily one of the best live concerts I've even attended and Demon Kitty Rag is a new fav song ^^

The downside to the experience is, that I'd had a rather exhausting day at work and after the concert I got home around 1 in the night ^^; and my alarm goes of at 5:30.
I wasn't quite coherent most of the day after XD
But totally worth it and I'd do it again =3

While on the subject of work. The last couple of weeks have been trying, I have had some rather complicated projects, that's almost logic defying have continued to trip me up as I tried to find heads and tails on them.
Particular a industrial, steam couldron. where I by the end of it had replaced half the parts and still the damn thing just need to vomit green to verify that it was indeed possesed >_< I had a long argument with the representive of the firm that constructed the damn thing, the poor guy just stopping short of calling me a liar as the readings I took of the circuteprints and power relays wern't suppose to be possible.
But in the end I manage to find the fault and get it working properly, though I'm gonna keep an eye on it as the guy at the company claimed the fault I found wasn't suppose to be possible ^^;

But that's just work. The drama on the other hand *facepalm* wensday our section leaders came out of the woodwork and annouced we were over budget and 4-6 people would have to be laid off.
This ofcourse caused quite a stir, as for one it's very bad HR management to just throw something like that out, without rhyme or reason.
So we had a internal meeting and voted a sitdown, unless something that concerned patient health came in. untill the bosses came down and explained themselves.
Annoyingly I was shuffled off to a first aid course, I'd decided to skip it to be a part of the talks and hear what our boss had to say, but our crews safety representative cornered me and told me, it was illegal for me to skip a safety course, for what was basicly a strike the union hadn't approved.
So with a grumble I went to to course and incidently I did well and have tried one of those automatic defibulators. Nifty stuff.
Now here's the kicker. Turns out I could have stayed, our safety representative had tricked me into leaving. I got a rep at work for speaking my mind and not much caring for "rank". Once telling the chief of the kitchen (sorta level with the chief of my maintanence section) to go fuck himself, not those words exsactly, but the way he stormed off and bitched to my boss, I think he got what I meant.
Anyways, the guy, was afraid I'd shot off my mouth and get on the bad side of our boss and thus, get the chop when people were to be put off. So he hoodwinked me and got me out of there.
I was royally pissed when he told me, I know he meant well and did it to keep me out of harms way so to speak. But I told him in no uncertain terms that he would not make such a decision for me again, ever.
But all the same, I was quietly moved. Per might bit a little... unfocused and he talks like captain Kirk (those odd pauses) but his heart is in the right place.
and I'm amused that our coordinator, pulled him aside at the meeting making sure that HE kept his trap shut XD

anyways, turns out the whole thing stinks. the current theory is that the whole lay off/over budget thing is a smoke screen for something else. But we can't figure out what =/
personally I think they're rattling the bush and see what pokes its head out and bites, you know to figure out what strong voices are on the crews and single them out for "transfer" better to control us.
Cause the way they handled this whole thing is just to dumb to be as plain as they try to make it.

oh yeah. and my training it making head way. ran 10.2 km the other day. Yatta! =D

Bringing back the old warhorses

Saw an episode on Game overthinker the other day on retro games. which made me look back on some of the old classics that ate up a significant part of my teen years.
While the years have left the games behind and glosed over the faults, bugs and short sights in them. I still recall them fondly and as it's all the rage these days to revive old games, to squeeze a few ekstra dollars out of the nostalgic thirty something gamers.
you can't refer to the nineties with out bringing up Masters of Orion II
I don't have count of the hours I've spent putting ships together, balancing colonies and utterly exterminating any of the other races that as much as looked at me funny =3
It could do with a serious grafics overhaul, as well as the AI would need work and rebalancing of the races, that one science race was so hax it wasn't even funny ^^; also more options in the diplomacy department would be nice.

Masters of magic:
hmmm Civilisation with magic, monsters and units that get experince and you can augment. I played this long after it was no way in hell fesable to play on my computer ^^;
But this game just so damn addicting and I love the fact you units gain experience and get tougher, so even the lowliest spearmen would have a chance against heavy cavelary.
well mine would eat heavy cavelary =P as I'd turned them into firebreathing werewolves, with stone skin, magic weapons and wings XD
Again a grafic upgrade and some decent ochesteral music ^^d possibly some ai tweeking and downpowering the hero units, which in the later lvls took out armies with one arm tied behind them ^^;

Sharing the plague

So, I got this one stuck in my head. so I'm sharing it with you guys, so I won't be the only one.
I might be a little partial cause I find her gourgeous =3 But it's a rather nice song, even if you're not a Zelda enthusiast.

Return of the dark wastes

And my computer crooked on me >_<
not utterly, not smooking pile of melted circutes blue screen of death.
But my grafic card overheated, taking something in vista with it. causing it to crash each time it tried to initiate the drivers.
so I could only get my computer to work in safe mode ^^;
Anyways, some fiddling and trial and error later. I've managed to circumvent the drivers and got windows back up and running. albiet with artifacts all over the place (or so Kenneth called them.) manifests as frozen matrix lines of data pixels and not really cool at all, just annoying. that and I can't run any vids on my computer. online works just fine luckily.
so, gotta get myself a new grafic card and new OS as vista is ripe for a reinstall.

All this amounts to me being out of the online loop for a while, almost two weeks. and without a computer to distract me, well except my attempts to get it to work, My grey matter has had more free time than usual.

I think I'm starting to believe it karma. Not quite the head over heels "Everything happens for a reason and you cannot escape your destiny" karma. More the "everything is connected and everything carries a lesson" karma.
Can't really put my finger on what sparked this pseudo ephifany. Things have just ... come together lately. hard to explain and I don't wanna jinx it =P

*insert sound needle skipping vinyl record* and now for something completly different.
While waiting for a late train the other night, I observed a beggar on the station. Kinda strange how you know people and yet suddenly see them for the first time. Not that I knew the guy personally, but I know him, he's been hanging around that particular station for years and years. Friend of mine made habit of sparing him some change everytime she met him there and had some to spare.
But he's just sorta just always been around and I've always noticed him when he stood with hand stretched out, hoping you'd add some coins to the small pile in his hand. As I passed him by.
I've never really spared him much thought, just another homeless guy. But getting a good look at him, it was harder to dismiss him as just social debri. Tall, with a long beard, ruffled hair and worn, if strangely delicat hands. and sad eyes in a lined face. tired and sad.
I can't help but wonder what his story is, what put him on this path and ended him on a corner on a station hoping for strangers to spare him some change or an empty bottle. Is he a mental patient? has alchohol or drugs destroyed him. Did the loss of a loved one break him?
It occures to me that in all the years I've seen or noticed him, I can recall what his voice, let alone if he's ever spoken. he's a ghost really, an echo of a person that died years go.
I waited for the train for a good 20 minuts, in those twenty minuts atleast 200 people walked by him. I counted 4 sparing him coin and one giving him her empty bottle.
What a lonely existance.
I usually don't spare beggars much thought. I don't know them, they can't or won't help themself, why should I. But I genuinly felt sorry for this guy. The way his bent frame picked up a little when people came by, holding out his hand. you could almost see  the hope that they'd spare some money and then he'd just sink down again and look forlorn around as they passed him by without even glancing at him.
A lonely ghost.
I had a few minuts before the train came to the station by that point, so I walked down to him, said hi there, as he noticed me and looked him in the eyes as I gave him most of the change I had in my wallet.
I don't know how much I gave him, but before the train came and I got on, he'd disappeared.
whole experience left an impression for some reason.

In other news and less serious. I managed a good run today. My foots been shot for a few days now and I've had timeout from running. mostly due to me being an idiote, I got a blister on one foot, which I punctured and went running on and ignored when it started hurting like hell and just ran on.
So, what I've deduced is that, the blister tore open while I ran and then the underskin started to blister and then that punctured >_<
ouch I say. so no running for me, for a good 7 days.
so can I learn it.
