My moms boyfriend had called for us to join the Herlev around bicykel race. social race for a good cause (the entrance fee goes towards charity)
The ride is around 25 km, the trick is Brix (as the guys names is) doesn't really see it as a race and more a social event, with lots and lots of drinking breaks along the route. But it did sound fun.
So I got up disgustingly early for a day off and went to his appartment to met with him, my brothers' father and a few other people. where we started the day with a "bitter" yuck.
And there off into the windy and rainy morning of mid May.... where the fuck is that global warming everyone is talking about, I thought I'd bundled up fairly warm and I still froze my ass off.
we gathered with a shitload of other people (around 700 all told as far as I've gathered) and we headed off in teams. I think we got about 1500 meters before our first pitstop and we pulled over for a beer (or in my case a coke) and that's how it went for most of the route.
While cozy, I must admit the novelty of watching peopel drink beer and goof around as the only sober person and then moozy along the route (running joke was that if hour average speed on the smart phone tracking app got over 5kmh we had to make a pitstop)
So about 7 from the finish line, me and one of the other "younger" guys had had enough and split from the group, agreeing to meet up at the line.
So off we went, at a pace much more to my liking.
after the race we all met up at my moms place for hotdogs afterwards.
So all in all, very cozy, but next year, if I join, I'm going with my own, more speed minded group. we cleared the 25km in about four hours XD

On the edge of a great drop
So I'm ever so slowly getting started on my cosplay, yeah you heard me. Cosplay. I gonna dress up.
I decided last year at Genki con that I wanted to cosplay. initially I picked Vash the Stampeed from Trigun, cause the character is awesome and I really like the outfit, but as I started to do the logistic overview of what needed to be done to make a decent cosplay, the fight just sorta wheezed out of me. Vash was WAY to ambitious, both technically and finacially. Some day maybe, but right now I gotta own up to my limits and utter lack of experience.
So after some mulling about I decided to do Dark Link, Links evil opposit from the Zelda series. It seems a more manageble project and I like the idea, since I'm gonna be massive compared to most of the Links that tend to show up at the danish cons (those tending to be girls cosplaying, where as I will be a 6foot 170 pound male =P )
I chose Dark Link cause to my knowledge he hasn't really show up on danish cons and I'd like to try something that hasn't been seen.
Also, I'm giving it my own spin, as neither of the official Dark Links are really practical, being all black on black or with pitch black skin.
I go for a dark version of the Link from Twillight princess, I like that design and I'll add some evil twists of my own.
So I won't be a canon character, but I still hope I can enter craft at Genki Con =)
So here's the kicker, I'm slowly getting startet, I got a list down of what I need, got a battle plan. managed to scrounge up one of most tricky bits, the chainmail.
And I sorta fretting about, think it's finally dawning on me, just how MASSIVE an undertaking a cosplay is. Sure I've been around the cosplay community for years, I've helped make cosplay, but the sheer amount of time and effort that goes into cosplay. Even a relatively simple one such as Dark Link.
Today I got roughly 97 days until Genki con. it is time to stop mucking about and get started =)
So take a deep breath and plunge in. ^^d see you on the other side.

Very feeble, but there's signs of life
Been away from this blog for months on end, but I think I'm about ready to pick it up again. 'Cause it's not like I have stuff to do other than writting what ever strikes my fancy and throw it at the world wide web.....

Day of wrong moves
Man, today could have been a bloody monday >_<
well didn't start too bad. only stumbled across another dead person at the morgue (yes I know it's full of dead people, but they tend to be in the corps room) last couple of days I've been by the chapel and morgue, I've walked in on prep work. Or that autopsy last week. (problem with hydrulics in the autopsy table)
Dead people don't bother me as such, but it kinda feels like intruding.
Anyway, the real shitstorm didn't brew up untill after lunch. the last two days our secretary has had back&forth with the IT departments secretary cause they sent a request to have their industry coffemaker de-calcified. to which I politely, but firmly replied for them to do their self as they should and how.
Well appearently they didn't agree and after two days of nagging, our secretary asked me to call and shut them up.
And I got the worst kind of person, first off she was utterly condersending. The chip on her shoulder due to me implying that she should do menial work obviously setting her off balance.
15 minuts later I was ready to garot her with a cord and shouting at my phone. during this conversation she'd threated to call my boss (whom I'd given her both the names of) accused me of insulting her and demanding an apology (when she shifted from not being suppose to do the decalcification to not knowing how, even through having it througoutly explained. I replied that, that stomped me, since kitchen personal on several wards whom barely speaks danish can manage, why couldn't she. gross insult comparing her with the kitchen staff. I can see that ^^;)
And through all of this she was constantly cutting me off, everytime I started to explain how it was their own responsibility to take care of their coffemaker.
So, as I realized I had started shouting and this was leading nowhere. I swallowed my pride, got my temper under control and apologised for insulting her and agree to look at it tomorrow (where it'll take most of the day, maybe two to take care of their problem =3 )
Now, this whole alteration in itself was enough to ruin my mood quite througoutly. But I was standing on a catwalk in an auditorium, which had been empty.
After hanging up, I turned to see, some thirty people had filed in for a lecture and had witnessed my little temper tantrum.
my cheeks felt very hot for the next half hour. gawd that was embarressing >_<
So, foul mood established I headed for CPH to meet with Eri. not having seen each other in ages. picked up my mood instantly =)
So we visited am eco cafe called Firefly, pricy place. but very nice. Neatest little detail, you got a Ipad'ish little gizmo at your table, on which you could order food and drinks =D totally cool concept and worked rather well ^^
also their milkshakes with greentee were quite good and their RAW cheesecake excellent. And I am definetly having a eco-cola another time =) Tasts good and something like a third of the sugar ^_^
And we swung by Tiger, got myself a meathammer. Blue Johns with bacon. I'm looking at you =3

I have returned from beyond the veil
.... or something like that =)
man, havn't updated this thing in ages. JAZYZ!
so, what has been going on, keeping me away from updating this blog. nothing much, but enough to keep me distracted ^^;
Mainly, I fell for a girl.... well maybe not as much feel as crashed into the ground with enough force to create a large heartshaped crater.
Which made the rebuke I got in the end all the more painful. But bottom line is: if the feeling ain't there, it ain't there. (Can't fault her for not returning my feelings, though I don't understand how she can resist my charm Xp )
=) so I got a few cracks in my heart, but I'll heal.
Also attended Genki, which was seven shades of awesome ^^d most definetly cosplaying next year. There were some excellent cosplays that really inspired me.
and all in all, I had a swell time ^^

Stuff happens
First and formost, my computer is finally fully up and running again. yay =D
After having recieved my first new grafic card around the middle of the month, which turned out to be faulty (black screen of death and nothing beyond that) I returned it to sender (shoutout to the good guys and gals at Pixmania for being super helpful) ^^d
So today I recieved my Radeon HD 6870 ... again. Not taking any chances this time around, I dressed down to my tightywhities (myth about static from cloth. 10pts if you can tell me where I picked it up =3 ) and said a prayer to the machine spirit before I turned om my computer. Don't know what did the trick, but it worked =D
Some driver installation and settings fiddling later and I'm lucking at a crisp clean screen image

It's amazing, I'd actually gotten use to that 600X800 res with reams of grafic errors up and down the screen.
The lay offs at work are finally over, after something like two months of stress. last week, the last two got the axe. One I'm not ashamed to say I was not sad to see let go. The other, a bit =/ lady had worked there for twenty years and while I didn't talk much with her, she seemed nice enough.
But atleast it's over and done with.
I'm also working on a small project of getting a personalised wax seal made, you know, to seal packages and letters with a bit more personal touch. Still designing my monogram though, tricky buisness =)
Saturday this weekend tittered on the edge of being a real shitfest, but actually managed to get it's balance and stride into the zone of awesome =D
my saturday started 4 in the morning T_T my freaking eyes acting up, possibly a small cold messing with me or I'd slept with my eye open or something. one way or another my left eye was playing merry hell with me and watering and itching like a mofo.
So no sleep for me the next hour an a half.
7 in the morning I got up and dragged the laudry (long overdue) down to the wash room. hour later I discover that the drying is fried, leaving me with a shitload of waterlogged cloth DX
So I go all spiderman on my appartment and tie string left and right across my living room and hang the cloth up to dry. I just need two dogs and a pair of italiens and I could have recreated the dinner scene from Lady & the Tramp nicely =3
Then off to my grans birthday, which was cozy enough, if I was feeling rather wasted and fnah.
Afterwards I went home and took a nap, sheer desperation, believe you me. You see, sleeping during the day for short durations utterly messes with my body and I feel positively nauseas the first hour or two after I wake up. But If I was gonna be any fun during the evening I had no choice.
So around 18 the First guest show up and we eat dinner and get ready.
around 20 the last guests arrive and I explain the rules for the Disney's hercules drinking game =3
It's very simple, there's about 20 rules dictating when you gotta take a sip when a particular thing happens in the movie.
It was hysterically fun and a sure way to become utterly shitfaced mighty fast if you don't pace yourself =D
... I didn't XD we went to bed around 4 in the morning and four hours later when I got up, I found the door to my appartment open. [Insert mental image of me doing my best impression of the "the scream" ] well nothing had been stolen and appearently I didn't close the door properly when I let out the last guest going home. One of the guest sleeping over, told me a neighbor walking down the stairs earlier had poked his head in and asked if we were okay ^^;
So my OCD with locking my doors been a little over active the last few days, but totally worth it. tremendously fun night =)
now I go for a run. tata people ^^/

the machines are taking over??
So, I shouldn't complain, but I find it suspecious that my fried grafic card has recovered and is working again, only days shy of being replaced ^^; and I don't mean glitch gone away, I mean broke as in crashing my computer if I didn't shut it off. Now it strangely enough works again o_0 does anyone get images of the T1000 reforming too? don't look a gift horse in the mouth they say... what if the horse is tooting a plasma rifle?
Anyways, while I remain free of the mechanical overlords dark will yet I might speed you up on current events =)
I got myself a calender (I know, not all that riveting, but stay with me) First of it's been bugging me for a while that while practical that I ahve my calender on my computer desktop and easy to keep an eye on, I don't have it with me, when making arrangements with people. thus stuff slips through the floor boards of my memory occationally or I forget to write them into my calender.
So I went and got myself a moleskin =) and felt like personalising it ^^
Admitted, my penmanship needs work, but it turned out alright for a first try =) (10 points if you can tell me where I got the text from =P )
I'm also looking into gettting a personalized signet made at an engravers shop, right now I'm hunting prices as I'm getting the design down.
And I got a freaking cold >_< so I missed out on the family trip to Bakken (amusementpark/fair) much to my brothers annoyance, pissed me off a little. 'cause a runny nose, itchy eyes and supporting bone structure made from jello is way more entertaining than spending time with your family.
